When Can Babies Start Eating Solid Foods? ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿ‘ถ

Starting solid foods is an exciting new chapter.

Suddenly, your baby gets to experience new tastes, smells, and textures.

But when should you begin?

Many babies are developmentally ready for complementary foods around 6 months of age. Readiness matters more than simply reaching a particular date.

Signs of Readiness May Include

๐Ÿ‘ถ Sitting with good head and neck control

๐Ÿฅ„ Showing interest in food

๐Ÿ‘„ Opening the mouth when food is offered

๐ŸŒ Being able to swallow food rather than consistently pushing it back out

Breast milk or infant formula remains an important source of nutrition as complementary foods are introduced.

Introduce age-appropriate foods and textures, and discuss allergen introduction or any feeding concerns with your pediatrician.

Always supervise your baby while eating and avoid foods that pose choking hazards.

The first meals may be messy.

Very messy.

And that's part of the fun.

At BareBloom Babies, we believe every new taste is another little adventure worth celebrating.
