An hour may not seem like a big difference to an adult.
To a baby with an established sleep rhythm, however, a clock change can sometimes make mornings and bedtimes feel different for a few days.
The good news? You don't need to completely redesign your baby's routine.
π Keep the usual bedtime routine familiar.
β° If needed, gradually adjust sleep and meal times in small increments before the clock change.
βοΈ Use natural morning light to help establish the start of the day.
π Continue familiar bedtime cues such as a bath, pajamas, books, or songs.
π€ Allow some flexibility while your baby adjusts.
Some babies adapt quickly, while others may need more time.
If your baby wakes earlier than usual after the time change, don't assume the new pattern is permanent. Continue offering consistent daytime and bedtime cues while giving your baby's internal rhythm time to adjust.
Most importantly, avoid putting too much pressure on yourself to create a perfect sleep schedule.
Like many stages of parenting, the transition is usually temporary.
At BareBloom Babies, we believe gentle consistency can make life's little transitions feel easier for the whole family.
